Personal Profile

Gill has been working as a Careers Adviser with Connexions for the past 8 years, and doing Careers Coaching and guidance on a consultancy basis. She has extensive experience in giving information, advice and guidance to clients of all ages and abilities.

Gill is a good listener, is non judgemental, and has the ability to motivate and enthuse clients to move forward in their careers.

She is an advocate of life long learning and achievement, and believes everyone has the potential to achieve their hopes and dreams.

Gill enjoys being with her family and likes to travel in her spare time. She has many interests, which include going to the Cinema, the Theatre and she loves to cook for family and friends. She also enjoys swimming, yoga and going for walks in the country.

Gill also does work for an occupational charity, visiting potential beneficiaries, and she hopes to join the Board of Trustees in the near future.

Experience in Career Guidance

Gill began her profession in Careers Guidance working for Connexions in Northumberland eight years ago. She quickly became lead in a mainstream school and was responsible for a large caseload, where she delivered 1-1 guidance interviews, workshops and group work.

In the last two years she has specialised in working with clients with learning difficulties/disabilities, and worked with clients of all ages in a further education establishment and two specialist schools.

Gill also trained as a Lifecoach, firstly through the Coaching Academy and then Newcastle College. She has done Careers Coaching on a part-time basis with clients of all ages and abilities in the last couple of years.
